It looks like the Buffalo Bills have two new fans on the bandwagon: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D).

The progressive congresswoman and socialist mayor opted to campaign with New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) on Sunday by watching some pigskin at Murphy’s Sports Bar in Queens.

AOC showed up decked out in a Bills shirt — only to be one-upped by Hochul, who was sporting a Bills letterman jacket, Bills cap, and what looked like a buffalo wing hanging from a chain around her neck. Mamdani, meanwhile, was donning his usual black suit… but he appeared to have a mild case of Josh Allen Fever too.

While speaking to reporters in front of the pub, Ocasio-Cortez admitted she was more of a baseball and basketball fan, but that she was warming up to football.

“If you rewind the clock, when I played Tim Walz in Madden, the Bills were my team!” Ocasio-Cortez said. “I am newer to football, but the Bills were my team. Just check the receipts.”

Others who rewind to the 2024 AOC-Walz Madden matchup will remember the Minnesota governor oddly recommended she “could run a mean pick 6.” It was a bizarre comment for the ex-football coach to make, since anyone with a modest understanding of the sport knows you don’t “run” a pick 6 — where the defense intercepts a pass and returns it for a touchdown, for you non-football fans out there.

The trio then went inside and watched the Bills smoke the Baltimore Ravens, 36-10; the win moved Buffalo to 6-1 on the season.

Their little watch party comes after AOC hinted at being a Bills honk last month, when she was spotted wearing a blue Buffalo sweater while trying to rally support for Democrats heading into the midterms.

Mamdani and AOC cheering for Buffalo stands out a bit, considering the New York Jets and New York Giants play much closer to NYC. The Jets and Giants play at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which is about 9 miles from Midtown Manhattan, while Buffalo’s new stadium is 360 miles north.
